85th anniversary of Atatürk’s passing to eternity

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the ceremony held at Anıtkabir on the 85th anniversary of the passing of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Türkiye.

The ceremony at Anıtkabir (Atatürk’s Mausoleum) began as high-ranking state officials walked on the Lion Road. President Erdoğan and other high-ranking officials laid wreaths at Atatürk’s mausoleum and observed a moment of silence at 09:05 a.m. at Anıtkabir.

After the national anthem was sung, President Erdoğan wrote the following in the Anıtkabir Special Book at Misak-ı Millî Tower:

“August Atatürk, on the 85th anniversary of your passing to eternity, we once again remember with grace Your Excellency, your brother-in-arms, our gallant martyrs, who defended our homeland at the cost of their lives, and our veterans, who sacrificed their blood for the same ideal.

As has been the case for 21 years, we work with love to make our Republic, of which we have begun the second century with the vision of the Century of Türkiye by having left behind its first century with great pride, live and remain victorious forever.

We continue to glorify in every area the Republic of Türkiye, the hope of the oppressed, the protector of the unprotected, and the source of pride of our citizens.

No power will be able to prevent the rise of Türkiye, the construction of the Century of Türkiye, and our nation’s century-old dreams becoming true.

May you rest in peace!”
