“Every single member of the 85 million has won in the elections”
Speaking following the Presidential Cabinet Meeting, President Erdoğan said: “Political winners of the election are of course clear. However, the entire Türkiye has won in these elections along with us and our alliance. Regardless of their political preferences, every single member of the 85 million has won.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a press conference following the Presidential Cabinet Meeting at the Presidential Complex.
Making remarks relating to the agenda items of the cabinet meeting, President Erdoğan noted that the nation defended its will and future with a record high voter turnout in the May 14 and May 28 elections.
“WE WON 17 ELECTIONS IN THE PAST 21 YEARS”
“With the historic victory we attained at the parliamentary and presidential elections, we obtained our 17th electoral win in the past 21 years. We have been able to continue to serve as president, as we have been proudly doing since 2014, with the support of our august nation,” the President said.
Expressing his wish for the election results to be auspicious for the Turkish nation and the entire humanity, President Erdoğan extended his appreciation to citizens who manifested their preferences at ballot boxes by democratic means in both rounds of the elections.
President Erdoğan stated: “We are grateful to every single citizen of ours who elevated on May 28 the Turkish democracy to a level envied and seen as a reference by the world. I particularly would like to thank my 28 million brothers and sisters who showed their strong support for me in both rounds of the elections.”
“On behalf of myself and my nation, I also would like to thank our friends and brothers all across the world who enabled us to once again witness the fact that ‘Türkiye is bigger than Türkiye.’ In this process, it has once again become clear that Türkiye is the name of hope, resistance, affection and mercy as well as of a strong stance against invaders not only in its near environs but also in hundreds of countries from Africa to Asia, from Latin America to the Balkans, from the Middle East to the Turkic and Islamic world,” the President stressed. “Political winners of the election are of course clear. However, the entire Türkiye has won in these elections along with us and our alliance. Regardless of their political preferences, every single member of the 85 million has won.”
