“Our state has assigned all the necessary personnel to the quake zone”

 

Speaking at an iftar dinner with quake victims hosted at İstanbul Büyükçekmece Dormitory, President Erdoğan said: “Our state has assigned all of its institutions and resources as well as all the necessary personnel to the quake zone. Our nation, with NGOs and individual initiatives, has been standing with quake victims since day one.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan shared an iftar dinner with quake victims who were brought to Istanbul and placed at Büyükçekmece Dormitory following the February 6 earthquakes.

Making a speech following the iftar, President Erdoğan wished Allah’s mercy upon the citizens numbering more than 50 thousand who died in the quakes, and offered his condolences to their relatives.

Noting that this year’s Ramadan started with sorrow due to the casualties and devastation caused by the quakes, President Erdoğan stated: “It is imperative for us to reinforce our bonds of affection with the victims in the quake region and in other cities during the Ramadan, a month of spiritual peace, carnal purification, and material sharing and solidarity.”

Stressing that all the necessary state institutions, resources and personnel have been assigned to the quake zone, President Erdoğan said: “Our nation, with NGOs and individual initiatives, has been standing with quake victims since day one. We will never forget the international assistance, particularly from the friendly and brotherly countries.”
