President Erdoğan addressed citizens in Kahta
Addressing citizens in the Kahta district of Adıyaman, President Erdoğan said: “Our cause is the nation and goal is to bring services. No matter what others run after and aspire to achieve, our top priority is the earthquake zone. Our top priority is to swiftly provide quake victims with safe, peaceful and resilient homes.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech in the Kahta district of Adıyaman.
Voicing his happiness to be in Kahta, President Erdoğan offered his gratitude to the district’s locals for their strong support in the May 14 and May 28 elections.
“We will show our gratitude to you by setting the bar higher in our politics of services and projects,” said the President, stressing that whatever is necessary will be done to revive Kahta, where 62 citizens lost their lives in the February 6 earthquakes.
Noting that a mobilization had been launched since day one of the earthquakes despite harsh winter conditions and the vastness of the area affected by the quakes, President Erdoğan drew attention to the vigorous efforts exerted through the solidarity of official institutions, municipalities, NGOs and volunteers to meet the quake victims’ urgent needs and solve their problems.
“WE WILL CONTINUE THE DELIVERY OF POST-QUAKE HOUSES AT FULL PACE”
“You also know that it is not easy to cope with such a massive disaster which has directly affected our 11 provinces and 14 million citizens. We, however, continue our efforts with determination. We have started to hand over the newly-built post-quake houses on the first anniversary of the earthquake,” said the President, noting that a combined 700 post-quake houses, 535 in the district center and 165 in the countryside, have been delivered to their rightful owners in Kahta.
Underlining that the delivery of further post-quake houses will continue at full pace, President Erdoğan stressed: “Our cause is the nation and goal is to bring services. “WE ARE ERASING THE TRACES OF THE EARTHQUAKE ONE BY ONE”
Proceeding from the district of Kahta to the district of Sincik in Adıyaman, President Erdoğan addressed citizens in Sincik.
Wishing Allah’s mercy on the 85 citizens who lost their lives in the February 6 earthquakes, President Erdoğan said: “We cannot bring back the lives we lost but we have the means to compensate for all the other losses. We will start to hand over the houses and village homes to their rightful owners in the district as soon as possible. May Allah protect our country, nation and city from every kind of disasters and troubles.”
Pointing to the ongoing efforts to erase the traces of the earthquake one by one, President Erdoğan said: “We are also paving the way for a more prosperous and brighter future for the city. There are very few countries in the world which can recover so quickly from such a massive disaster as the February 6 earthquakes.”
