President Erdoğan attends groundbreaking ceremony of post-earthquake houses in Malatya

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended a ceremony held in Malatya for the groundbreaking of post-earthquake houses and the key handover of new residences, village houses and shops.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Erdoğan congratulated citizens’ Ramadan and wished Allah’s mercy upon those whose had lost their lives in the earthquakes that had taken place on February 6. “We will rebuild safer and more modern houses for the collapsed ones. And we will rebuild more spacious workplaces for the collapsed ones. We will revive our cities in their most beautiful form. Because we love this country,” the President noted.

Underscoring that in the wake of the earthquake disaster, preparations for the construction of permanent houses as well as works for search and rescue, debris removal, emergency aid and temporary accommodation had begun, President Erdoğan said 15 days after the disaster, the ground had been broken for post-earthquake houses, and noted: “We aim to make our cities return to their normal lives by building 650 thousand new residences and village houses, 319 thousand of which we will deliver within a year.”
