President Erdoğan attends State Medal of Supreme Sacrifice Presentation Ceremony

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the presentation ceremony of State Medal and Order of Supreme Sacrifice at Beştepe Nation’s Convention and Culture Center in Ankara.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Erdoğan noted that they have come together today for the presentation ceremony of the medals to the domestic and foreign search and rescue teams that made sacrifice in the February 6 earthquakes, and said: “You have really made us happy today by accepting our invitation. I thank each and every one of you, our guests from abroad in particular. As you know, our state has orders and medals in three different categories. With a little amendment we made recently in the law on orders and medals, we have added to them another one, the State Medal and Order of Supreme Sacrifice. Our aim is to reward those, who display sacrifice in combatting pandemics as well as such natural disasters as earthquakes, fires and floods, with this order and medal.”
