President Erdoğan attends Victory Day ceremony at Anıtkabir

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended a ceremony held at Anıtkabir (Atatürk's mausoleum) on the August 30 Victory and Turkish Armed Forces Day.

After President Erdoğan laid a wreath at the mausoleum, a minute of silence was observed and the Turkish National Anthem, the Independence March, sung.

Proceeding to the Misak-ı Milli Tower, President Erdoğan wrote in the Anıtkabir memorial book the following: “August Atatürk, we are experiencing the pride of reaching the 101st anniversary of the great victory, which you described as the eternal monument of the Turkish nation’s thought of freedom and independence. On this day, one of the milestones of our glorious history, we remember with grace you, your brothers-in-arms, the distinguished members of our Grand National Assembly, and our gallant martyrs. We are implementing our Century of Türkiye vision, which has come to symbolize our goal of rising even beyond the level of contemporary civilizations, with great determination and through solidarity between the state and the people. We will keep working day and night until we realize our country’s goals and make our nation’s centuries-old dreams come true. Rest in peace!”
