President Erdoğan meets with representatives of NGOs in Muğla

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with the representatives of nongovernmental organizations and opinion leaders in Muğla.

Making a speech at the meeting, President Erdoğan said: “We are taking and will continue to take necessary steps in line with our growth-centered economic programme without compromising the price stability and anti-inflationary approach.”

President Erdoğan underlined that Türkiye has not deviated from its goals despite the earthquake disaster and the conflicts that erupted in the region last year.

Noting also that Türkiye ended 2023 with record-breaking figures in terms of foreign visitors and revenues in tourism, President Erdoğan pointed out that this year’s target in tourism is 60 million tourists and 60 billion dollars revenue.

President Erdoğan stated: “Last year, we ranked the first among EU countries with a growth rate of 4.5 percent. Exceeding the 1 trillion dollars limit, our national income has reached 1.119 trillion dollars for the first time in our history. We have thus surpassed a very critical psychological threshold. I believe we will reach much better levels as the conflicts in our region come to an end.”

Drawing attention to the efforts exerted for the revival and reconstruction of the cities hit by the February 6 twin earthquakes, President Erdoğan said: “It is important for us to eliminate the effects of this massive disaster we experienced on February 6 on the one hand and to make our cities more resilient on the other. We endeavor to quickly complete our country’s preparations against disasters, particularly the implementation of urban transformation projects and the renovation of infrastructure in our cities.”
