President Erdoğan met with children under state protection at an iftar dinner

 

Speaking at an iftar with children under state protection, President Erdoğan said: “Each and every one of our children, who constitute approximately 23 million of our country's population, is under our responsibility as the state and its administrators. Starting from pre-birth, we work day and night to meet every need of our children from health to education.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered remarks at an iftar dinner with children under state protection at the Presidential Complex.

Stating that there are thousands of children preparing for life under state protection in children's homes and children's centers all over the country, President Erdoğan said: “Surely, parents have a special place. As an elder who lost both of them, I would like to admit that I still feel their longing at this age.  As you know, in our culture, the state is both mother and father.”

Stating that the state, which is the protector of the unprotected, is the only safe haven for children who are separated from their parents for various reasons, President Erdoğan said: “Each and every one of our children, who constitute approximately 23 million of our country's population, is under our responsibility as the state and its administrators. Starting from pre-birth, we work day and night to meet every need of our children from health to education. Since we see our population as our greatest strength, we are proud of the number of children we have. Although the average number of children in our families has decreased considerably recently, we will hopefully overcome this situation with the measures we have taken.”
