President Erdoğan receives Türkiye’s first-ever astronaut Gezeravcı

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received Türkiye’s first-ever astronaut Alper Gezeravcı, who returned to the country after carrying out Türkiye’s first manned space mission at the International Space Station (ISS), and his family at Esenboğa Airport in Ankara.

At the meeting, Gezeravcı presented to President Erdoğan the Turkish flag he had with him during the 18 days he spent at the International Space Station (ISS) and the patch with the inscription “Türkiye’s first manned space mission.” President Erdoğan also presented Gezeravcı with a watch.

First Lady Emine Erdoğan and Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır were also present at the meeting.
