President Erdoğan speaks at opening of inter-delegation meeting in Azerbaijan

 

President Erdoğan: "We are ready to open our Consulate General in Shusha at your convenience. Inshallah, if our Consulate General in Shusha can be opened, it will send a distinct message to the entire world, particularly Armenia.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at the opening of the inter-delegation meeting with President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan at the Youth Palace.

President Erdoğan expressed his gratitude to President Aliyev for their hospitality, stating that he visited the TRNC first and then travelled to Baku after being re-elected with the support of the nation.

President Erdoğan emphasised that the Turkish-Azerbaijani brotherhood is envied throughout the world, citing the earthquake in Türkiye as the most recent example.

Recalling that the government and people of Azerbaijan shared Türkiye's pain as their own and that delegations immediately arrived in the earthquake zone, President Erdoğan said, "I am grateful on behalf of myself and my nation to every Azerbaijani citizen whose heart beats with us."

President Erdoğan emphasised their determination to develop relations in all areas, which were elevated to the level of alliance with the Shusha Declaration, and noted the following:

"We are ready to open our Consulate General in Shusha at your convenience. Mr. Hakan (Fidan), immediately in regards to this matter... If our Consulate General in Shusha can be opened, it will send a distinct message to the entire world, particularly Armenia. With the assistance of the Azerbaijani authorities, our Maarif Foundation continues its educational and training activities. Inshallah, we hope to open our school's new education campus next year. It is critical that we consider the middle corridor crossing the Caspian Sea and the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line in this context as soon as possible during our bilateral meeting with my dear brother."
