President Erdoğan spoke at the Burdur rally

 

Addressing citizens in Burdur, President Erdoğan said: “We are committed to our principle of not allowing our workers, public servants and retirees to be overburdened by inflation under any circumstances. Nevertheless, our main goal is to ensure permanent welfare increase.”

President and Justice and Development (AK) Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed citizens at the party’s rally in Burdur.

“From Gaza to Syria, from Yemen to Afghanistan, our brothers and sisters are unfortunately spending this year’s Ramadan in bloodshed, fire and agony,” the President said, adding also that the war between Russia and Ukraine has now raged for over two years.

Pointing out that many European nations are worried about the possibility of the war spilling over into their countries, President Erdoğan stated: “No one knows what may happen or where another crisis may erupt tomorrow. Amid all these conflicts, Türkiye, thank Allah, stands out as an island of stability.”

Highlighting that the conflicts breaking out in the region also affect Türkiye, President Erdoğan noted that inflation, which has reached the highest rates of the last six or seven decades in many regions including Europe and the U.S., plagues Türkiye, too, just like all the other countries.

Underlining Türkiye’s commitment to its principle of not allowing its workers, public servants and retirees to be overburdened by inflation under any circumstances, President Erdoğan said: “Nevertheless, our main goal is to ensure permanent welfare increase. In this regard, we have to reduce inflation to single-digit figures. Just as we have achieved this before, we will do so again. As our state’s capabilities grow, as its revenues increase, and as the burden on its shoulders eases, we will fairly distribute the resulting resources to all.”
