President Erdoğan spoke at the Hakkari rally
Addressing citizens in Hakkâri, President Erdoğan said: “We sincerely embrace every individual of the 85 million without making any such distinction as Turk, Kurd, Zaza, Arab, Alevi or Sunni.”
President and Justice and Development (AK) Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed citizens at the party’s rally in Hakkâri.
Stating that they visit each and every one of the 81 provinces of the country from west to east, north to south, President Erdoğan said: “We sincerely embrace every individual of the 85 million without making any such distinction as Turk, Kurd, Zaza, Arab, Alevi or Sunni.”
Drawing attention to the efforts exerted over the past 22 years to bring services to every corner of the country, President Erdoğan noted that 72 billion liras’ worth of investments have been made in Hakkâri alone in the past two decades, and said: “We have opened 2,021 new classrooms. We have inaugurated Hakkâri University. In the area of youth and sports, we have built higher education dormitory buildings with a capacity to accommodate 1,476 persons. We have allocated nearly 6 billion liras for the needs of our citizens in Hakkâri. We have put into service a total of 37 healthcare facilities across Hakkâri, including the 220-bed state hospital in the province and the 150-bed state hospital in Yüksekova.”
Pointing out that a mass housing project of 4,935 units has also been implemented in Hakkâri, President Erdoğan stressed that they aim to prepare Hakkâri for earthquakes without delay.
President Erdoğan continued his remarks as follows: “In agriculture and forestry, we continue the construction works of Durankaya, Bağışlı and Salkımlı irrigation dams. We have brought Dilimli Dam to the bidding phase. We have completed the construction of the Yüksekova drinking water distribution line and treatment facility. We have provided 9 billion liras in agricultural subsidy to our farmers in Hakkâri. We have established Yüksekova Organized Industrial Zone, with the infrastructure works ongoing. We have started supplying natural gas to Hakkâri. In the period ahead, we are planning to extend natural gas to Çukurca, Derecik, Şemdinli and Yüksekova, too. We have built Merga Bütan Ski Center and enabled our 10 thousand youths to take up skiing.”
Further stressing that they have also renovated the Esendere Border Gate and inaugurated the Üzümlü and Derecik border crossings, President Erdoğan noted that it now takes only three hours for citizens to travel from Hakkâri to Iraq.
