President Erdoğan spoke at the Opening Ceremony of KeyVac Vaccine Production Center
“KeyVac WILL PLAY A PIONEERING ROLE”
Stating that the Hepatitis A vaccine production facility, inaugurated today, will fill an important gap in its field, President Erdoğan said: “Our factory, which consists of 14 thousand square meters of indoors area, 12 thousand square meters of factory production line and 2 thousand square meters of office space, is equipped with the latest technology. With a total factory area of 29,500 square meters, KeyVac will inshallah play a pioneering role in other vaccines it plans to produce.”
“What happened during the coronavirus pandemic showed us the critical importance of vaccine production capacity. Türkiye managed this process much more successfully than many countries in the world as a result of the determined and effective steps taken by our government,” President Erdoğan said.
“Thanks to our strong infrastructure and inclusive social security system, we have provided all our people with first-class healthcare services. Together with our own indigenous vaccine, we have offered all vaccines that have been registered as effective against the pandemic to our citizens free of charge,” President Erdoğan said.
“In the economy, we stood by our business world and employees through various support packages. Despite all the pressure from the opposition, we refrained from taking drastic steps that would have devastating consequences on the economy. In addition, during the pandemic, we fulfilled our humanitarian duty by providing medical supplies to 161 countries and 12 international organizations. Our country emerged from the pandemic, which is described as the biggest health crisis of the last century, by growing not weaker, but stronger, and by increasing the number of its friends. I congratulate all our officials, institutions and companies, especially our healthcare professionals, who contributed to this success,” President Erdoğan said.
“OUR COUNTRY WILL HAVE ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY AND TRAINED HUMAN RESOURCES”
“Hepatitis A Vaccine is an inactivated vaccine used to prevent the disease caused by the Hepatitis A virus. The vaccine has been included in the General Immunization Program since 2012,” President Erdoğan said. “The Ministry of Health administers 2 doses to each child at the end of the 18th and 24th months free of charge. In addition, many people with chronic liver disease and coagulation disorders and those in the risk group are vaccinated. Hepatitis A vaccine, which is mostly supplied from abroad, will now be produced in our country at world standards. Thus, Türkiye will be the 4th country to produce this vaccine at the highest standard. With this important facility we have inaugurated, our dependence on foreign countries for Hepatitis A vaccine will decrease. In addition, our country will have advanced technology and trained human resources in this field. I once again wish that the KeyVak Hepatitis A Vaccine Production Factory, which was put into service on the 100th anniversary of our Republic, will be auspicious.”
