President Erdoğan visits Anıtkabir with Supreme Military Council members

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and members of the Supreme Military Council visited Anıtkabir (Atatürk’s Mausoleum) before the meeting of the Supreme Military Council.

President Erdoğan, accompanied by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya, Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, Chief of General Staff and Land Forces Commander Gen. Musa Avsever, Naval Forces Commander Adm. Ercüment Tatlıoğlu and Air Forces Commander Gen. Atilla Gülan, proceeded to Atatürk’s tomb through the Lion Road.

Laying a wreath at the mausoleum, the President wrote the following in the Anıtkabir Special Book at the Misak-ı Milli Tower: “August Atatürk, we as the members of the Supreme Military Council once again remember with grace you and our gallant martyrs. We wish that the 2023 Council meeting will lead to auspicious outcomes. Türkiye, despite the ongoing conflicts in its immediate environment, continues to be the center of attraction of its region. We are exerting intensive efforts in order to build the Century of Türkiye and leave our children a more prosperous, more reputable and more peaceful country, as we have promised to our nation. Our biggest source of power and confidence in our efforts is the apple of our nation, the Turkish Armed Forces, with its high sense of duty, deterrence and outstanding capabilities. We will inshallah further strengthen our Army with the decisions we will take during today’s meeting. Rest in peace!”
