President Erdoğan: We are preparing for our Republic’s centenary with great enthusiasm

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered remarks to reporters following the Presidential Cabinet Meeting at the Presidential Complex.

KAZAKHSTAN AND AZERBAIJAN VISITS

Drawing attention to his recent meetings with various heads of state and government, President Erdoğan said he had held a tête-à-tête with Prime Minister Edi Rama of Albania, who had paid a visit to Türkiye, and that on October 12 he had gone to Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, to attend an important meeting.

President Erdoğan noted: “On the first day, I co-chaired with my brother Tokayev, the President of Kazakhstan, the Fourth Meeting of the Türkiye-Kazakhstan High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council. With the six new agreements signed in various areas, we further strengthened the Türkiye-Kazakhstan cooperation. The following day, we had chance to meet with many heads of state and government on the sidelines of the Sixth Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia, which became an organization with the resolution adopted at the Leaders’ Summit.

Pointing to his one-day visit to Azerbaijan on October 20, President Erdoğan said: “I, together with my brother Ilham Aliyev, inaugurated Zangilan International Airport, built in the region saved from the occupation.”

“During our visit, we have agreed on accelerating the project of the clearing of the mines, which is another important step that will revive the region. With the participation of some other brotherly countries, we, together with Azerbaijan, carry out tripartite works that will broaden our spirit of cooperation in the areas of trade, transportation and energy.”

“WE WORK FOR A TÜRKİYE THAT ENHANCES ITS RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS”

“We are preparing for our Republic’s centenary, which we will mark next year, with great excitement and enthusiasm,” President Erdoğan noted, and added: “To us, this anniversary has meanings far more than a calendar change, which is the beginning of the second century of our new state. That is why we have named as the Century of Türkiye the leap forward, which will elevate our third state we have founded in the past one thousand years on Anatolian lands to a level that we as the nation dream of in political, economic, social and diplomatic areas. This vision, which we will raise on all the achievements of our country and civilization, will be the greatest legacy we will leave to future generations.”

“We work for a Türkiye that enhances its rights and freedoms, and grows bigger, stronger and more developed in every area,” underscored the President, and said: “Our goal of the Century of Türkiye does not only aim to increase the prosperity of our nation, and make our country a regional and global power. It is at the same time the name of a leap forward during which we will rejuvenate our religious, cultural and civilizational roots.”
