“We are taking steps to prepare our country for the Century of Türkiye”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan marked Eid al-Fitr and April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children’s Day in a speech he delivered at the opening ceremony of the Akyazı Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Sports Complex in Sakarya’s Akyazı district.

“WE HAVE NEVER LEFT OUR CITIZENS IN THE QUAKE ZONE ALONE”

Pointing out that this year’s month of Ramadan and the Eid were observed with a heavy heart due to the losses caused by the February 6 earthquakes, President Erdoğan said: “We, however, have never lost our hope as a necessity of our faith. We have never left our citizens in the quake zone alone. I once again wish Allah’s mercy upon our citizens who lost their lives in the Disaster of the Century.”

Noting that steps to transform the risky structures all over the country are not neglected, President Erdoğan stated: “How can we look to the future confidently without peace, security, stability, investment, production and development? This is our biggest promise to our nation. We are before you once again with our promise to build the Century of Türkiye upon the infrastructure of democracy and development we have introduced in our country thus far.”

President Erdoğan further stressed: “In addition to getting prepared for disasters, we are also taking steps to prepare our country and nation for the Century of Türkiye.”
