“We have corrected to a large extent our technology-related deficiencies in defense industry”
Addressing the Air War College Commencement and Flag Handover Ceremony, President Erdoğan said: “We have corrected to a large extent our technology-related deficiencies in defense industry with the important moves we have made in the recent period.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the Air War College Commencement and Flag Handover Ceremony in Istanbul.
Stressing that Türkiye is among the countries facing the highest number of both asymmetrical attacks, and regional and global threats, President Erdoğan said: “Thus, we need to constantly strengthen all the forces of our military, including the army, navy and air forces, in terms of technology and personnel. We have corrected to a large extent our technology-related deficiencies in defense industry with the important moves we have made in the recent period. We are now capable of developing and manufacturing our own manned and unmanned combat aerial vehicles.”

“We are making further progress every passing day with the completed, continuing or newly-launched projects under every title from radars to missiles, artificial intelligence to cyber systems,” noted President Erdoğan. “Cognizant of the fact indicated by the adage, ‘si vis pacem, para bellum,’ we are working to meet our own needs by ourselves without nurturing animosity towards anyone. We never shy away from sharing our experience and capabilities in technology with our friends, as is seen at our War Colleges. Quite the contrary, we have always stood by our friends in their fight for justice and rights, as has been evidenced by countless examples particularly in the past seven years. Thanks to this principled stance of ours, we have consolidated the standing we have obtained through our political and military might with the influence we have in diplomacy and humanitarian relations that is described as ‘soft power.’
