Speaking at the opening ceremony of Seddülbahir Castle and Gelibolu-Eceabat state road, President Erdoğan said: “A century ago, we united our hearts and set our bodies as a barrier against the great powers. We have overcome numerous adversities we have experienced in the same way with the strength we derived from our unity, solidarity and brotherhood. We will overcome the wounds inflicted on our cities and hearts by the earthquake and flood disasters as a united state and nation.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of Seddülbahir Castle and Gelibolu-Eceabat state road.

Greeting the citizens participating in the ceremony, President Erdoğan said: “On the occasion of the March 18 Çanakkale Victory and Martyrs' Remembrance Day, which is one of the glorious chapters of our history, I commemorate with grace all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence of our a-thousand-year-long homeland. I also wish Allah’s mercy upon our citizens who lost their lives in the earthquake and flood disasters that our country has recently experienced, each of whom we sincerely believe to be in the rank of martyrs.”

“Now, we are removing the rubble while also continuing the preparations for temporary shelter centers, and starting the construction of permanent residences. Inshallah, we will revive our cities within a year, and our earthquake victims will be reunited with their homes,” President Erdoğan said.

Noting that they are working to better prepare Türkiye against all kinds of disasters and threats, President Erdoğan said: “One by one, we are eliminating the obstacles and excuses that will prevent Türkiye from its endeavor to provide a safe, peaceful and prosperous future for every member of our nation. The only thing we need to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the crises the world is going through is to firmly uphold the climate of stability and confidence. If we achieve this, no one will be able to stop us from reaching our goals.”
