“We will not disappoint the millions who trust us”

 

Addressing a meeting with AK Party’s provincial heads, President Erdoğan said: “We will work over the next five years to fulfill in the best manner the duty we have assumed, as we have done over the past 21 years. We will not disappoint the millions who believe in and trust us.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at a meeting with the provincial heads of the Justice and Development (AK) Party in Ankara.

“Our nation, who let our alliance emerge victorious from the May 14 polls by a wide margin with 323 deputies, supported us much more strongly in the runoff compared with the first round,” said the President. “By the will of our august nation and with the 52.18 percent of the votes, we have undertaken the duty of ruling the country over the next five years.”

Pointing out that the election results show the importance Türkiye attaches to democracy, confidence, freedoms and development, President Erdoğan voiced his belief that the elections would pave the way for a much brighter future for Türkiye and the Turkish democracy.

“We will work over the next five years to fulfill in the best manner the duty we have assumed, as we have done over the past 21 years. We will not disappoint the millions who believe in and trust us,” underscored the President, and extended his gratitude to the nearly 28 million citizens who supported him and his alliance in the elections.
