Speaking at a women’s gathering, President Erdoğan said: “Women are the most important heroes of our endeavor to serve our country and nation.”

President and Justice and Development (AK) Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at a women’s gathering.

"Over the course of our 40-year-long journey in politics, we have always walked shoulder to shoulder with our women," said President Erdoğan. “We have come to this day not through political engineering, but thanks to the prayers of mothers. We have always overcome the obstacles raised before us and the attacks that even reached to the point of targeting our lives with the support of women."

“I would like to note once again today that women are the most important heroes of our endeavor to serve our country and nation,” President Erdoğan said. “It was women who started the 'Anatolian Revolution' with the November 3 elections. It was women who saved the Turkish democracy from the darkness of February 28th. It is women who have stood up for the national will against all the attacks it was subjected to. On the night of July 15th, it was women who stood against tanks and airplanes. It is women who defy terrorist organizations through their children watch.”

Stating that the efforts and labor of our women contributed to Türkiye’s epic progress in all spheres from economy to trade, from rights and freedoms to agriculture, tourism, education and health, President Erdoğan said, "When you were turned away from university gates because of your headscarf, you remained patient. You did not despair when you could not find a job or lost your job because of your appearance."

“When bloody criminals took away your little children, you did not give up. When necessary, as was on the night of July 15th, you defended our independence and future at the cost of your lives. Even though you were subjected to discrimination and obstacles were raised before you, you maintained and boosted your accomplishments in every field of life, from politics to academia, from bureaucracy to business, from sports to arts. Just like Nene Hatun, Şerife Bacı and the late Şule Yüksel Şenler, you have already written your names in history in golden letters. I congratulate all the brave women of our country,” President Erdoğan said.
