President Erdoğan: We are leaving future generations a robust infrastructure on which they can build the Century of Türkiye

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the opening ceremony of the Pendik-Sabiha Gökçen Subway Line.

Noting that with today’s inauguration the total length of Istanbul’s railway network surpasses 270 kilometers, President Erdoğan stated: “This figure will exceed 366 kilometers with the completion of the ongoing projects. Half of Istanbul’s railway network has been built by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, just like 312 kilometers of the 811-km-long urban railway system across the country. This number will further expand with the addition of the 185-km-long railway currently under construction.”

President Erdoğan went onto say: “Since my term as Istanbul Mayor, we have been working to produce projects and services for our people with a human-oriented approach. We have raised our people’s life quality as a result of a century’s worth of projects we have put at the service of our cities and country over the past 20 years. We, therefore, are leaving future generations a robust infrastructure on which they can build the Century of Türkiye.”
