“We are realizing the dreams that we have been pursuing since the foundation of our Republic”
Speaking at the debut of the Century of the Future, President Erdoğan said: “Today, we stand before our nation with a new phase of our projects, and inshallah, we will see much newer ones tomorrow. One by one, we are realizing the dreams that our nation has been pursuing for centuries and that we have been pursuing since the foundation of our Republic.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the debut of the Century of the Future at the headquarters of the Turkish Aerospace Industries in Kahramankazan, Ankara.
“Today, we mark another historic day in the sphere of aerospace,” President Erdoğan underlined. “First of all, I would like to congratulate our TAI employees, who have made our nation proud today, and all our workers on May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day.”
Pointing to the numerous good news they shared in recent months in defense industry, President Erdoğan recalled that the TCG Anadolu ship joined the navy, the İMECE satellite was launched into space, the Gökbey helicopter flew with an indigenous engine, the Altay tank was delivered to the armed forces and for the first time a torpedo was launched from an unmanned naval vessel.
“Today, we stand before our nation with a new phase of our projects, and inshallah, we will see much newer ones tomorrow. One by one, we are realizing the dreams that our nation has been pursuing for centuries and that we have been pursuing since the foundation of our Republic,” President Erdoğan said.
“If we are talking about the Century of Türkiye today, our accomplishments in the defense industry, which is both the insurance of our security and the engine of technological progress, has a great share in this,” President Erdoğan said. “The defense industry power of our country, which gives confidence to our friends and fear to our enemies, will continue to be the most significant ground for our political, economic and diplomatic progress.”
Underscoring that Türkiye does not let any of the bloody terrorist organizations, from DAESH to PKK-PYD-YPG, breathe, President Erdoğan said: “Almost every week, we receive news that a terrorist ringleader has been neutralized within or beyond our borders. Our successful operations against the ringleaders of the separatist organization has already been going on for a long time. The other day, we neutralized the so-called leader of DAESH, Abu Hussein al-Quraishi. In the coming period, with our intelligence, armed forces, police, gendarmerie and security guards, we will continue to destroy the lairs of terrorist organizations. With this aim, I want you to work harder, to design and produce more, to help our country have a say, influence and gains in more fields. We stand by you with every step you take, every drop of sweat you shed, every product you develop, with all the means and capabilities of our state. Inshallah, we will build the Century of Türkiye together.”
Announcing the name of the unveiled national combat aircraft to be KAAN, President Erdoğan underlined that the greatest power behind our gallant army, both in peace or war, is the nation and the defense industry, which is the product of the nation’s endeavors.
“TÜRKİYE IS ON THE BRINK OF A NEW ERA”
“Having been deprived of the industrial aspect of this power for a long time, Türkiye is now on the brink of a new era. We have worked hard for our national weapons, national aircrafts, UAVs, UCAVs, national ships, national satellites, national tanks, national rifles and many more, and we have succeeded. We will continue to work harder and achieve even greater success. Today, we have airplanes, UAVs and helicopters making their first flight and starting their engines. More importantly, we have brave engineers, daring pilots, industrious workers, and the troops of our defense industry who work day and night,” President Erdoğan said.
Stating that as Türkiye grows stronger, they will see peace, justice and fairness take root in the region and in the world, President Erdoğan said, "Surely, for this, we must not leave any work we have started unfinished. We will not allow what happened to many projects in the past to happen to these products."
“We have worked hard, and sacrificed a lot. Will you look at our HÜRJET making its maiden flight? We are all aware that these jobs are not easy at all. Hundreds of engineers, pilots and technicians are working day and night to give us this pride. HÜRJET, our first jet-powered supersonic fighter jet, will be used in training our heroic pilots and, when necessary, we will equip them with weapons so that they can go to the battlefield. With this feature, HÜRJET will also be able to partially replace our F-16s by being equipped with our own weapons and radars. Very soon, our HÜRJET will join the inventory of our Air Force. Also, our acroteam demonstration aircrafts will consist of the HÜRJET fleet. Inshallah, we will also deploy HÜRJET on our TCG ANADOLU ship. Our national combat aircraft, KAAN, is before our eyes in all its splendor. It will fly very soon,” President Erdoğan said.
