“The fight against FETO is important not only for peace in the country but also the respectability and independence of the justice system”

 

Justice Minister Abdulhamit Gul delivered a speech in 2020 Year Budget at TGNA.

Gul said that the country’s justice system has engaged in important struggles against the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) since the defeated coup in 2016.

The fight against FETO is important not only for peace in the country but also the respectability and independence of the justice system, Gul said.

FETO and its U.S.-based leader Fetullah Gulen orchestrated the defeated coup of July 15, 2016, which left 251 people martyred and nearly 2,200 injured.

Turkey also accuses FETO of being behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police and judiciary.
