On July 1, 1966, Kahramanmaras was born in Elbistan.

Academician and Politician; After completing his primary and secondary school education in Elbistan, he continued his education life in Istanbul. In 1984 he graduated from İstanbul Bahçelievler Koca Sinan Lisesi. He completed the Faculty of Theology of Marmara University in 1991. In 1997, he completed his master’s degree in Social Structure and Social Change in Istanbul University Social Sciences Institute. He is continuing his doctoral studies in Sociology Department of the Faculty of Science and Arts of the same university. He started teaching in 1992. After teaching, he gave counseling services on urban studies, local governments and political communication issues. He worked as a consultant in the ITO in 2005 and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club from 2007 to 2009. He has been a Head of Behavioral Sciences Department at a private university. He also taught Organizational Behavior at the MBA at a foundation university. In 2003, he lectured at AK Party Political Academy. In all the elections since 2004, AK Party took part in the strategy teams that prepared the election campaign. He has also worked as an election strategist for elections held in many countries including Iraq, Malaysia, Cyprus, Egypt and Lebanon. In 2009, he was elected as an MKYK member at the AK Party 3rd Ordinary Grand Congress and was appointed as Deputy Chairman of AR-GE. In the same year, he was the coordinator of AK Party Political Academy. In the 24th term, Kahramanmaraş deputy was elected. In 2011 General Elections, Deputy Chairman of Group was brought to duty. In the 64th Government he served as Minister of Culture and Tourism. He is the Deputy Chairman of the AK Party and he manages the AK Party Publicity and Media Headship. Unal, who speaks Arabic and English, is married and has one child.
