Zafer SIRAKAYA

Foreign Affairs Deputy Chairman

He was born in 1974 in Herne, Germany. 

In 1998, he graduated from Bilkent University’s Department of Political Science and Public Administration. He completed his master’s degree in Business Management at the University of Wales, London. 

Between 2004 and 2014, he served as the General Coordinator, Vice President for Foreign Affairs, and Vice President for Economic Affairs of the "Union of European Turkish Democrats" (UETD), an organization he is a founding member of.

Between 2014 and 2016, he served as the Chairman of the AK Party Brussels Office. Between 2015 and 2016, he served as a member of the Board of Directors and Vice President of the Alliance of European Conservatives and Reformists (AECR), of which the AK Party is a member, in the European Parliament.

Between 2016 and 2018, he served as the President of UETD (Union of European Turkish Democrats).

In the 27th and 28th Terms, he was elected as AK Party Istanbul MP.

In the 27th Term, he served as the Chairman of the Sub-Commission on Turks Abroad and Related Communities, established on October 10, 2019.

On September 21, 2018, he was appointed as AK Party Vice Chairman of Foreign Affairs, and on June 19, 2023, he was appointed as the Deputy Chairman of AK Party in charge of Foreign Affairs.

On October 7, 2023, at the 4th Extraordinary Congress of the AK Party, he was elected to the Central Decision and Executive Board (CDEB) with the blessings of our President and continues to serve as Deputy Chairman in charge of Foreign Affairs.

Zafer Sırakaya, who speaks fluent German and English, is married and has three children.
