Çiğdem KARAASLAN

Environment, Urbanism and Culture Deputy Chairwoman

She was born in 1979. She graduated from Bilkent University Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture Department of Urban Design and Landscape Architecture as an honor student. She completed her master’s thesis on ”The Problem of Disidentification in Historical Towns" at Ankara University. She continues her academic career in the department of Social Policies at Yıldırım Beyazıt University.

On 10 April 2005, she was appointed as the deputy chairwoman of Publicity and Media of AK Party Headquarters the Youth Branches at the First Ordinary Grand Congress. On November 11, 2006, she was elected to as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Main Grade Central Decision at the 2nd Ordinary Grand Congress of the AK Party. She has been elected as a member of MKYK for the 4th time with the AK Party 5th Ordinary Grand Congress. Karaaslan, who has been working as the deputy chairwoman of Social Affairs of Headquarters since 2010, during this task, she contributed to the studies on disadvantaged groups, disabled people, accessibility and environment issues. She has represented her party for many times in international organizations.

Çiğdem Karaaslan, who was the 25th and 26th term deputy of Samsun, was appointed as the deputy chairwoman in charge of Environment, Urbanism and Culture. She is fluently speak English. She is married and has two children.
